Lauren has been so incredibly happy! That's really the best way I can describe her. She's agreeable, she's eager to please, she is attentive and wants to be part of things, she's singing a lot, she smiles all the time, she doles out affection like it's her job, she volunteers "I love you mommy" about 25 times a day.
This. Is Amazing.
Her cast came off on Monday. Funny story there, we were driving home on Sunday, on the tail end of a several hour drive. All of the sudden she told me she put a water bottle cap down her cast. She has never done that! She was casted a full 8 weeks after surgery. And almost a full 4 since her fracture in June. Not even once! We got home, felt around, couldn't locate it. She insisted it was there. Greg wasn't so sure it was. I wasn't sure either. I texted the doctor I work for to ask if it could (please, God) wait until Monday morning, thankfully she said yes. I felt like a dummy calling her surgeon and saying I wasn't sure if there was anything in her cast, but there might be. He had us come in just in case since it was just a few days early. I was at work. My mom sent me a text of her adorable leg cast-free...and the bottle cap right next to her! We should've known because as a general rule she doesn't lie. She might answer a question with a lie by not admitting to something, but to come up with a lie all on her own to tell us? I've not heard her do it yet.
She's walking around like a champ. She's back in the brace she got when her first cast came off. She loves it now that it's summer time so she can showcase her butterfly brace AND her rainbow knee socks.
